Memorise: “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me” (Ps 56:11)

Read: Psalm 56:3-11

According to Jeremiah 17:5, it is a dangerous thing to trust in man. God placed a curse upon such a person. It is dangerous to tell somebody you trust him or her. If you do so, you have already brought yourself under a curse. Rather, say you trust the grace of God upon the life of that individual. Tell the fellow, ‘God’s grace upon your life will not allow you to let me down’. Psalms 56:11 KJV Mobile Phone Wallpaper - In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid

The moment you tell someone you trust him or her, that fellow will most likely fail, not because he wants to, but because God wants to prove to you that He is God. If you look back, there will be several instances when somebody promised to help you but failed.

Trusting in man is trusting in ordinary dust: that man can die or be removed from office, or lose the means by which he thought to help you. Are you still hoping to get that job or contract through your connections? Desist from it and trust in God. There is a user of this Devotional whose sole hope of getting a job is through his well placed uncle.

You have not been able to get that job because you were equating your uncle with God. As you begin to trust the Lord from now, your desire will be granted. When this happens, thank God and testify to God’s people.

One of my wife’s friends was sick. After several months, my wife phoned her and she said God was answering prayers for her recovery. She said for the first time in six months, she was able to dress herself. Do you know that there are some people who, when they lie down somewhere, except somebody helps them to turn to the other side, they cannot help themselves?

Do you want to trust such a weak thing as man? The Bible calls man a worm, nothing but vanity. Another thing in this passage is that God is compared with man. Whenever you do this in the right manner, you will be humbled because man at his best is nothing. He can wake up like a king this morning and by evening of the same day be eating grass like an animal.

Each time I read Psalm 34 where David said, ‘Magnify the Lord with me’, I always smile. How can man who is accounted as nothing magnify the One who is the greatest? You cannot make God greater. When you are magnifying God through praise and worship, you are the one that is being enlarged. In any case, are you trusting God for your finances or a fellow human being? Trust Him today.

Whenever you are faced with a problem, the first place or person your mind goes to for solution is the one you really trust.
