What is the Most Effective Church Growth Tool Available?

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

(Acts 1:8)

When church members were asked how many
times they have personally, “invited an unchurched person to attend a church
service or some other program at your church?”

48% of church attendees responded, “Zero.”

Percentage wise, did you know that if your pastor invited 20 people
to church, only 1 person would accept the invitation?  But, if You invited 20 people to church, 17
people would accept your invitation.

So what does that tell you?

If personal invitations by
existing church members are the most effective church growth mechanism
,
what stands in the way of that happening?
The first filter to a church invitation is really the heart of your
church member.  It’s the church member
who decides about giving an invitation to church.  It’s the church member who evaluates if the
benefits they receive are worth sharing with others.

It’s a matter of the heart.

As God puts people in your life, will you intentionally invite
them?  Jesus commands His followers to
bring lost people to know Him. You have a unique circle of influence, and your
personal invitation can encouragement them in the direction of Jesus. Invite
them!

In the coming year, I would like to encourage each of you to try
one of the most effective church growth mechanisms available, invite at least
one non-Christian friend to your small group each week, whether it’s Sunday
school or a home group, and let’s watch God grow the church!

You can do this!
