Prayers to recover stolen blessings and lost glory

“After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward” (Gen 15:1). All the power you will ever need is contained in one Name – Jesus, according to Matthew 3:11.

Anyone who really desires to get to Heaven must be acquainted with that Name because He is the only road to the Heavenly planet. That Name can satisfy every need. I discovered a long time ago that if you stop desiring and pursuing things and start to desire and pant after God, you will have everything.

Once you have Jesus, you have everything. A rich man once asked his son to choose one of his property while the rest will go to his faithful slave. The boy was confused on what to take. Fortunately, he met an old man who advised him to choose the slave since he was also part of the rich man’s assets.

The property of the slave belongs to the slave owner. The slave owner automatically controls the slave and all he has. All you need is Jesus. He is all I want. If you have Jesus, you have everything.

In Naaman’s house was a slave girl who was brought from Israel. She became a slave not by choice but by reason of Israel’s inability to protect its citizens against Syrian forces. A leader who fails to provide adequate spiritual cover over his flock would lose them to invading forces. Even after the raid and the young girl was captured, her parents must have reported to the king of Israel, but he did nothing about it. Never be nonchalant over any loss because no loss is totally irrecoverable until Heaven says so.

Make an effort to recover any good thing you have lost. Compared with some fellow Israelites who were captured and taken away to Babylon as slaves in Psalm 137:1-4, this slave girl towered in strength, fortitude and grace. Her counterparts in Babylon were musicians who were captured with their musical instruments but could never recover from that blow. They wept and wept. The request of their captors for them to sing the songs of Zion was turned down.

This was an opportunity to tell them of the God of Israel but they were too blinded to see it, and they lost that opportunity. But this slave girl was not asked but she saw the need and spoke about the power of the God of the Hebrews. Are you too carried away by negative circumstances that you fail to see your opportunities?

Singing songs of freedom in the land of captivity sets you free. Any treasure lost but uncovered, becomes foundation for subsequent losses. Allow no loss!
