Not governed by fear - Divorce Minister
And my faith in him convinces me that he is more than able to keep all that I’ve placed in his hands safe and secure until the fullness of his appearing.

When I was reading this chapter, this second half of verse twelve grabbed my attention.
I doubt I am the only one who visits here that struggles with fear and anxiety. It is a battle I have on a regular basis. Over the years, I believe I have grown in resting in God’s peace; however, I am far from having arrived.
Fear was really big for me during the time of my divorce. Maybe you can relate?
I worried about how I was going to make a living, what will my (ex) spouse do, and many other things. So many questions were unresolved during the time my first marriage drew to an end. It was a time where the Enemy played on my anxiety.
Yet God was and is present.
I look at this verse out of 2 Timothy and am reminded of the antidote to my fears–namely, faith in God.
This antidote to fear is trusting Him that allows me to let go of my anxieties about the future because God holds my future, and He is good.
I can entrust my life, my well-being, and all things to Him. Then I can rest in peace as the Apostle Paul here instructs Timothy by his own example. I can rest because I know Who holds all these things.
So, next time you are struggling with fear, I encourage you to return to your faith in God. Is God good and powerful enough to see you through? He was and is for me.
