Be Humble and Poor in Spirit as a Believer - Raising Zion

poor in spirit

Being humble and poor in spirit is a necessary reminder for all believers. Especially in the times we are in.

What is the time like, today?

Fear. Chaos. Outrage. Suicide. Fake News. Depression. Frustration. Lies. etc. (All caused by the love of money.)

Come politics, sports or entertainment, or a big worldly event and today we have believers involving themselves in earthly affairs. The great American dream is hinged on having material prosperity. The campaign over a few decades is now responsible for causing the utter spiritual breakdown in the country. When there is a spiritual breakdown the above negatives prevail.

Sadly, other developing nations have followed suit, turning believers into carnal rather than spiritual people. In the case of America, it’s refreshing to see some realise the truth and fight back in prayer and furtherance of the gospel in the garment of peace and truth. For these developing nations, it hasn’t boiled over yet for most to realise.

The poor in spirit speak the language of God’s love

If we don’t stay humble, sticking to the way of Jesus, we will crumble giving in to the affairs of this world. Our spirit will be bound by the rich knowledge of this world which brings negative natures into play. Our spirit gets charged with temporal knowledge and information. Debating and arguing and hating on each other. Worldliness is natural for the sinful man. Believers need to steer clear of entangling themselves by keeping Christ at the Center of all we do.

What does God want? We walk in the fear of God. Praying for all. Speaking the truth in love. Inviting people to Christ who is the only way. Let the world bicker over the perishables because only believers can speak the language of the eternal.

May God help us stay rooted and grounded in Christ till His soon coming. Praise God and Amen.
