Praise And Thanks To My Lord - Impacting Righteously

The reality is that every day is day of Thanksgiving. I know that there is a calendar day that is set aside annually for a day of Thanksgiving. I’m grateful for that. My immediate family and I live a bit of a distance from each other.

We have many longer distant relatives scattered throughout different states. This is a time of year when especially my immediate family makes sure we gather together to reconnect, have fellowship, fun, and good food!

I am so grateful for God, family, freedom, friends, food, health, clothing, shelter, transportation, my job, my recent promotion, and so much more! This year, I’m also grateful and relieved that things are getting somewhat back to normal.

Last year, we did not gather, except via zoom. I’m grateful for zoom! We spent hours on Thanksgiving Day 2020 connecting via zoom with family members from different areas, as well as enjoying a delicious meal.

From being grateful to the most significant blessings such as Jesus Christ paying the penalty for our sins and being Savior to all who believe on Him and accept His gift of salvation, I am also thankful for the gift of each new day that we are blessed with.

A supernatural event for which I remain grateful.

I am grateful for gifts in the past, present and future. I reminisce, and remember a miracle from many years ago. We were having a get together and cook out in the yard at my parent’s house. At some point, I decided to take a little ride on the four wheeler parked nearby. It was my first time riding one.

I went off by myself, hopped on, and took off. I did not realize how touchy the gas pedal was. All it needed from me was very light pressure to do the trick and send me off. Not realizing this, I put too much pressure on it, accidentally accelerated way too fast down the hill…and I hit a tree. I did not even have time to scream or say a prayer.

Only thing is, I did not hit the tree. I watched myself drive straight into the midddle of the trunk of the tree. Yet, somehow I went past it. Whoa! What? There was no impact. I had somehow ended up to the side of the tree. I was shocked.

If you think I would have felt relief first, this is not the case. That would have been the normal thing to feel. However, what I felt first was shock, because I didn’t understand. I was shocked I did not hit the tree when I saw myself drive right into it.  After I came to a stop and got off the four wheeler, I walked back to the tree, bewildered.

I examined the grass in front of the tree where I had seem myself hit it. Sure enough, the tire tracks in the grass went straight into the tree trunk!

Yet, I had somehow ended up safely going off to the side of the tree, missing crashing into it.

“For he will order his angels
 to protect you wherever you go.”

I went from shock to wonder, and finally felt extreme gratitude. Then I began thanking God. God is real, God is good and I thank and praise Him for His total provision, including His protection. He knows what happened that day.

He knows exactly how He worked things out on my behalf and I am so grateful for His divine intervention. There is no other explanation. It doesn’t even make sense in the natural.

After that, I lost interest in riding the four wheeler and returned to the cookout, still feeling a bit shaken. However, I played it off as if nothing had happened. I did not tell anyone about the incident until years later.

There are every day miracles and blessings, both great and seemingly small, for which I am grateful for. They are all significant. There are too many blessings to list in a post. I must express my gratitude more often to God as well as to others.

Last but not least, I am thankful for each of you and your support.  I know that people live in different locations and they may or may not celebrate Thanksgiving Day on November 25, 2021. Some people celebrate it at a different time than we do in the United States.

Other people may not celebrate it at all. However, I wish everyone of you happy days of blessings and thanksgiving, because no matter where you are or who you are, there is always something to be grateful for.
