Why Read The Bible Daily ? – Part 3

In Part 1 and Part 2 we looked at many important reasons why you should read the Bible and spend time with God daily.

Hearing God’s voice is the most important part of your prayer & fellowship time with God, and is absolutely vital to have intimacy with God. You cannot have intimate fellowship with God, and become one with God, and a partner with God in His great Kingdom work if you do not reverently listen to Him and then follow Him as He leads you and speaks to you. You need to read God’s word the Bible daily and seek God with all your heart to know God and His will and God’s calling on your life.

Why Read The Bible Daily ?

The Word Of God Is A Spiritual Weapon

The Word of God gives you a weapon which you can use to fight off Satan and his attacks. And to avoid falling into his traps, lies, and deceptions.

In Matthew 4 Jesus fights temptation and lies by the enemy and wins by quoting Scripture 3 times, saying “It is written…”. Jesus gives you the perfect example of how to fight against and win over temptation, lies, and deceit, which are some of Satan’s primary tools to get you away from God and in bondage and defeat.

Matthew 4:1-4 “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Psalm 16:8-11 “I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

Isaiah 48:17-18 “This is what the LORD says- your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.”

Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
