Genesis 31 vs 7

And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

Genesis 31:7-21 KJV - And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

  1. Jacob sowed lies to his father and reaped lies from his uncle, Laban.
  2. Jacob sowed deceit unto his father and reaped deceit from his uncle, Laban.
  3. Jacob cheated on his brother, and his employer cheated on him.
  4. Jacob took the birthright of his brother and his father-in-law, took away the wife he married (Rachael), and gave him another wife (Leah).
  5. Rebecca conspired with Jacob and motivated him to deceive his father. Rebecah did not live to see the prosperity of Jacob. She died before Jacob returned from exile.
  6. Jacob lived a life of lies. Jacob told Isaac lies. Jacob was also told a lie by Rachael that she was on her period. She refused to stand when Laban was looking for his idols.

Prayers

  • I refuse to live a life of lies in Jesus’ name.
