3 Reasons That Cause Us To Fall Spiritually - Raising Zion

fall spiritually

Do you not feel like praying or reading the Bible? Is it boring to you? Do you lack the joy you had as a believer?

The narrow road to eternal life is full of trials, temptations, and persecutions. There will be a need to face giants. Go through the sea. Command the storms. Failures and discouragement will come. The burdens may seem too heavy to carry. Ask why? Seek why? Judge your walk. Submit to God’s will.

Primarily, there are a few reasons why we fail.

Here are three clear reasons that need immediate attention in our lives.

Three reasons why we fall spiritually

1. Sin (Psalms 31:10)

2. Low spiritual standard (Judges 1:28 / 2:2,3,10)

3. Fears (Luke 21:26)

Sin brings grief and spiritual weakness. With the Doctrinal framework eroded, lack the strength to move ahead by faith.

“For my life is spent with grief, And my years with sighing: My strength faileth because of mine iniquity, And my bones are consumed.”

Psalms 31:10

Samson toyed with the sinful nature of lust. He ended up losing his vision and strength. Saul’s disobedient ways cost him his life. Sin blinds us spiritually and draws us away from the light into darkness.

The Israelites made the mistake of not entirely wiping out the Canaanites (low spiritual standard). They ended up mingling with them and went astray from God. We have a holy, heavenly, and high calling. We are in the world but not of it.

Media today is spreading fear into the hearts of weak and vulnerable people. When the ten spies brought the news of how physically powerful the enemy was, Israel’s heart melted.

“men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”

Luke 21:26

Let’s put on the whole armor so we can face the wiles of the devil. The day of Christ is near; Praise God and Amen.
