An Enterprising Woman

    THIS MONTH'S THEME: R.E.A.L. WOMEN

"I got it from my mama." This should be the theme song for many if not most entrepreneurs. Think about it. How many success stories have you heard built around the legend of a strong, intuitive, resourceful woman? The enterprising spirit of women has played a primary role in the resiliency of the universal church with Christ as its head and women as its heart.

    Trusted with Sacred Things

The buoyancy and financial security of Jesus' ministry was made possible through woman who could see vision while still holding down the present. Sounds like the church of today.

And the Twelve [apostles] were with Him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had been expelled; and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s household manager; and Susanna; and many others, who ministered to and provided for Him and them out of their property and personal belongings. ~Luke 8:1-3, Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

Some of these women were gifted to be the first at his empty tomb. Mary Magdalene was the to experience the glory of a risen savior and the first called by him to preach the gospel, "He is risen!" Heaven trusts women with sacred things.

Boldly Going Where No One Has Gone Before

en•ter•pris•ing (ˈɛn tərˌpraɪ zɪŋ) adj. 1. ready to undertake important, difficult, or new projects; energetic in carrying out an undertaking. 2. characterized by imagination and initiative. Today, we speak the names of women representing the trust imparted by our Heavenly Father to his beloved daughters, to those whose enterprising spirits set us free to do the unimaginable through, for, and in Christ Jesus: Mary Magdalene She was a woman labeled and limited by society because of where she grew up. Always having to prove she was more than where she came from, more than the demons of her past, she was trusted by the most high God to support, witness, and be an integral part of the earthshaking ministry of Christ. She reminds us it does not matter where you have been. Only where you are going. Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s household manager

... a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. ~Proverbs 13:22, New International Version

By following and supporting Jesus, Joanna made one thing clear; there is no affluence greater than the influence of Christ. What did see have to do to see Jesus? To support his ministry? To walk daily with the Savior despite the enemy's dominion over her household? Joanna knew the One who holds tomorrow was the same one who holds her hand. We honor her tenacity. Susanna Although we know little about Susanna, her name holds great power. Susanna = lily, hope, joy Perhaps her power to enterprise was less about the work of her hands and more about the work of her heart, her essence, the godly atmosphere her presence created under the most adverse circumstances. Jesus himself tells us to "consider the lilies" when addressing our anxieties. She reminds - hope springs eternal in the presence of Christ. Like you, these whom God trusted with sacred things. Each enterprising in their own way. Like you. Mary Magdalene Joanna Susanna We speak their names as a reminder of what it means to go boldly. Sistas, you have been entrusted with sacred things. It is time to seek out that place where Heaven has called you to go boldly. Where to next?

Are you enjoying the REAL series? Reply back and let me know! Join we next week as we explore how the acceptance of Christ can transform the woman in you! Until then, much love!

Are You Safe? Understanding the Power of Repentance
