An Exciting Opportunity to Further the Gospel

One of the great joys of ministry is the opportunity to invest in other of the Lord’s servants. I continue to pray that God will raise up an army of evangelists, gospel men, for this generation. Increasingly, it is my burden to help enlist, equip, and encourage those who believe this is the call of God on their lives. We need more evangelists!

A decade ago, when God led me into evangelistic work, I was convinced that a big part of that was to help equip others to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). If everything reproduces after its own kind, then evangelists should not just leave new believers behind, but also new witnesses. The greatest gospel advance may come after the evangelist has left town.

An Opportunity In A Needy Place

The Lord has opened a door at this time for us to help further His cause in a needy place. Haiti is a nation in political and moral chaos. Gang violence and disorder have ravaged the country. A brief news check from the region has headlines like “nearing point of no return.” The real problem, of course, is spiritual. Haiti needs the gospel.

A group of Haitian men have surrendered their lives to serve as evangelists in that dangerous and needy place. We have been asked to come spend a few days with them in the Dominican Republic. It will be a time of intensive training. We pray it will equip them to reach their people. Amid all of the conflict, the reality is this: souls are dying, and Christ is the only hope.

I am excited to come alongside these men and those who are working with them later in May. Two of our team members, Chase and Micah, are traveling with me and will be helping with the teaching and mentoring as well. Would you help us?

1. Please pray.

You may not be able to make the trip, but your prayers can go where you cannot. Pray for laborers and lost souls. Ask God to give a great gospel advance. Intercede for our team and for fruitful meetings. We do believe that even “the gates of hell shall not prevail” against the church and the message of Christ. 2. Consider giving.

All of our work at Enjoying the Journey is done by faith and funded by the gifts of God’s people. We need several thousand dollars to cover the expenses for the team traveling to the region and the resources we hope to pass along to the gospel workers there. If the Lord leads you to have a part in this effort, we would be very grateful. All that is given will be used for this gospel project, and each gift is tax-deductible. Most of all, it will be an investment in eternal souls and the furthering of God’s kingdom in the Devil’s territory.
