Bible scriptures on dreams” Are dreams real and true?

Memorise: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (1 Thess 5:21)Read: Genesis 37:23-24

There are basic reasons for dreams. There are secondary dreams which are given to others which are meant to help you. However, there is an ultimate purpose for dreams: It is to keep you going especially in hard times when everything looks bleak, and you are not sure of what may happen. If you have a dream that you look forward to, it will prevent you from giving up or even committing suicide in the face of hardship. There are some revelational dreams or childhood dreams that may not be fulfilled in the next 10, 20, 30, or more years: It doesn’t matter. As long as you are sure it is from the Lord, hold on to it. It shall connect with other dreams and eventually materialize. In this sense, dreams are very powerful motivators.

Any dream God has given for your life is worth dying for. Never let it slip through your finger! If you look at the life of Joseph, you will observe that he was greatly motivated by his childhood dream. And he stuck to it throughout his travails until it came to pass. Never allow anything or anyone to separate you from your Heaven-sent dream. Once you give up the dream of your life, you may have nothing else to live for. When Joseph was thrown into a pit in Genesis 37:23-24, he knew he would not die. If he died, how would his dream of his brothers bowing to him be fulfilled?

When he was sold into slavery far away from his place of birth, he knew his dream would come to pass. In Genesis 40:14-15, when Joseph asked the butler to remember him, he was actually saying he knew he was not going to die in prison because his dream had spoken good concerning his future. If there was one person who stuck to his dream, it was Joseph. Another person who held unto his dream was Paul.

In Acts 23:11, the Lord told him he would testify of Him in Rome. He went through several problems and formidable hindrances yet he held on fast to what the Lord told him. He knew when they suffered a shipwreck and everyone’s life was in danger that he would outlive it. Has God made you a promise?

Has God given you a dream? Hold fast to it. It shall come to pass. You will not die before the realization of your dream. Hence, like Joseph, cut off anything that can separate you from the One who will fulfil that dream.

Your life’s dream is a powerful weapon against death, discouragement and the devil: Use it well!
