IMMUNED TO DEVOURERS?

Memorise: “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty” ( Proverbs 11:24 )

Read: Proverbs 11:24-25

God wants you to be materially blessed. He has already made provision for this ever before you were born. One reason many believers and ministers remain on the same spot is because they refuse to apply necessary principles of wealth creation.

They may teach others who apply it and receive the dividend, but as long as they do not apply it themselves, they remain located in poverty. The Lord will deliver you from poverty in Jesus’ Name.

“Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” ( Luke 6:38 ). This is a universal principle that applies both to believers and unbelievers.

It does not say, ‘Give and it shall be taken from you’ but ‘give and it shall be given unto you’. In other words, whenever you give, something is being handed over to you. This is so whether you believe it or not. Several people who were finding it difficult to make ends meet joined the RCCG, and as they applied this principle, they became millionaires.

Similarly, the quality and quantity of your gift and your disposition during giving affect the result of your giving. 2 Corinthians 9:6 and Luke 6:38 agree that God marks whatever cup you used in measuring your gifts. He uses the same cup in determining your harvest.

In one of our programmes abroad, we took an offering at a ministers’ Conference and I was disappointed at their response. I had to challenge them. In another meeting, not long ago, they even forgot to take an offering, yet they expected God to bless them. If you measure emptiness to God, He will return an empty harvest to you.

Our reading says it is possible to scatter and instead of decreasing, you will be increasing. You know and teach it but do you apply the principle? Unbelievers know this, hence they spray money at parties and give to beggars. Some ministers collect tithes from the congregation but do not tithe, thinking they are immune to devourers.

No you are not. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. If you teach others to tithe and you fail to tithe, apart from being a hypocrite, you automatically heap scriptures that will condemn you on the last day. Do you desire financial prosperity? How faithful are you to God’s Kingdom in financial matters?

Tithe defaulting leaders and ministers are the greatest victims of devourers. Little wonder unprintable things are happening in their midst. Repent!
