Blooms, Babies and Birds

Waiting can be so hard! Whether we are anticipating a special date on the calendar, the signs of spring, or the arrival of a new little one, our patience can surely be tested—but oh, when that moment finally arrives… it is so worth it!  This kind of impatience is not necessarily borne of frustration, but in fact, quite the opposite. The anticipation builds as we inch closer and closer to the moment we’ve been waiting for and then, finally, the excitement of a reality fulfilled puts a spring in our step and joy in our heart.

    Welcome Spring!

The trees seem to come alive again after a long, dormant winter.  Green sprouts pop through the soil with the promise of soon-to-be flowers that will color the once drab landscape.

    Bleeding Hearts
    Daffodils
    Crocus
    Hyacinth
    Flowering Quince

Sunshine and warming temperatures bring an excitement to the outdoor world that you can hear in the chorus of birds singing and insects awakening to the new season.

And the babies! New life just seems to remind us of a hope and a future, and new possibilities.  Our four children and fourteen grandbabies bring such joy to my heart, and nothing gets me more excited than when a new life comes into the world!

How much more our Creator must delight in us when we come to Him with praise and thanksgiving for all of these precious gifts–but even more so when we come to know Him and accept His promise of a new life and the gift of eternal life!

“For his invisible attributes, that is, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what he has made. As a result, people are without excuse.” ~~Romans 1:20

“For the love of Christ compels us, since we have reached this conclusion, that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died for them and was raised. From now on, then, we do not know anyone from a worldly perspective. Even if we have known Christ from a worldly perspective, yet now we no longer know him in this way. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!”  ~~2 Corinthians 5:1-17
