Close to the End

There is a door of death that awaits us all. When this door opens it does so quickly and often without warning. It ushers us into eternity, then closes securely behind us, never allowing us
re-entry into this world again.

We’re not alarmed when old people die. But, when others leave this world early, it causes us to think about things we may not want to face. We fear death because we don’t know what awaits us on the other side, knowing we must face our creator and judge.

Grasp my hand fellow pilgrim as we walk together in this world. The road is not to be traveled alone. Our Lord said he is the author and finisher of the faith we have in him. The work he began in us he promises to finish until the day he comes for us.

Let us behave decently living in the light by his grace. Remember we have his spirit in us to guide us and enable us to remain steadfast throughout the journey. Don’t look back. We are closer now to the end than when we first believed.

Now look at the instrument of death that ushered in Jesus through the death door, even the cross He was crucified on. This is where the judgement took place for our sins.

He was the only one who came back alive through the door, to prove that he was God himself, and that all that he said was true.

And do this understanding the present time: the hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over, the day is almost here. So, let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Romans 13:11-12
