1 Samuel 7 vs 12

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

As I celebrate my 48th birthday today, I shout Ebenezer, and thank my God for helping me to fulfill my glory and destiny in Jesus name. Incidentally, my middle name is Ebenezer.

  1. The God of Ebenezer is the God of helps, is God the helper, is God the lifter of men.
  2. A careful reading of the I Samuel 7 vs 1- 15 will give a deeper understanding of the God of Ebenezer; and how to receive divine help from God.
  3. The God of Ebenezer is the God that answers long term stubborn prayers, just as he answered the prayers of the Israelites after twenty years! (1 Samuel 7 vs 2)
  4. The God of Ebenezer is the God that delivers from the hands of stubborn persecutors, just as he delivered the Israelites from the hands of their arch enemies -the Philistines. (1 Samuel 7 vs 3)
  5. The God of Ebenezer is the God that fights for his people with a great thunder, and other weapons of warfare, just as He fought for the Israelites with great thunder. (1 Samuel 7 vs 10)
  6. The God of Ebenezer is the God that smites the enemies of the children of God (1 Samuel 7 vs 11)
  7. The God of Ebenezer is the God that subdues his enemies and that of His children. (1 Samuel 7 vs 12)
  8. The God of Ebenezer is the God that delivers from the hands of stubborn pursuers. (1 Samuel 7 vs 14)
  9. The God of Ebenezer is the God that restores the fortunes of this children (1 Samuel 7 vs 14)
  10. The God of Ebenezer is the God that gives his children divine peace and joy. (1 Samuel 7 vs 14)
  11. The God of Israel is the God that causes you to fulfil your kingship and dominion, just as Samuel was able to judge Israel in peace- all the days of his life, after God helped him. (1 Samuel 7 vs 14)

How to experience the God of Ebenezer

  1. Return to God with all your heart. (1 Samuel 7 vs 3)
  2. Put away the strange gods in your heart and possession. (1 Samuel 7 vs 3)
  3. Serve God only. (1 Samuel 7 vs 3)
  4. Get a word based, praying church that understands spiritual warfare or a true man of God to pray for you. (1 Samuel 7 vs 4)
  5. Repent of your sins and confess them openly. (1 Samuel 7 vs 5-6)
  6. Fast unto the Lord (1 Samuel 7 vs 6)
  7. Cry to the Lord without ceasing. (1 Samuel 7 vs 8)
  8. Make a sacrifice, give a good gift to the Lord. (1 Samuel 7 vs 9)

Making This December 26 Better Than Last Year's - Today Can Be Different

The more we draw near to and worship Him, the more we’ll become aware of how much He loves us and has intervened in our circumstances. The more we become aware of all He has done for us – and in us – the more we’ll experience healing from our pain and anger. Eventually, we’ll experience a joy we haven’t known for a long time.

    Did You Know?

The Christmas song “Mary, Did You Know” asks Mary, the mother of Jesus, a series of questions. “Did you know your baby boy would one day walk on water? Give sight to a blind man? Calm a storm? Rais…

What the Angels Said — Carol McLeod Ministries

Angels are an intrinsic and dynamic part of the Christmas story. Christmas simply would not have occurred without these God-sent messengers from heaven. We don’t know if the angels were clothed in flowing, white robes, if they had a halo that sparkled, or even if they flew with wings into the Christ

    The Mall or the Manger?

Much has changed since the God of the universe decorated the night sky with the star of Bethlehem and directed the choir of angels in a chorus announcing the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. But the commercialism doesn’t have to rule in our hearts and homes. This year let’s focus on the Christ Child and remember the true meaning of the holiday season. As we turn our eyes to the Babe in the manger, we will not view Christmas as a dreaded obligation or a major retail event. It will be a time of joyous celebration, honoring the One Who came to give us eternal life and worshipping our Heavenly Father.
