Filled unto All the Fullness of God

Galatians presents Christ revealed in us, living in us, and formed in us. When He is formed in us, we are conformed to His image and fully express Him. The full conformation is maturity in this age and a big preparation for New Jerusalem.

Ephesians 3 has a prayer beginning at verse 14. The first request in this prayer is that God “would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit into the inner man.”

New JerusalemOur inner man is our human spirit made alive by and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Everything God desires to accomplish in us is spiritual and requires this spiritual strengthening.

The main result of this strengthening is that Christ makes His home in our hearts. This home-making, like the forming in Galatians, is for Christ to live in and with us and to be manifested through us. This home-making causes us to be rooted (for life) and grounded (for building up).

Then we are “full of strength to apprehend with all the saints” the vast dimensions of Christ and to know His “knowledge-surpassing love.” These steps lead to “be filled unto all the fullness of God.”

This fullness is the present foretaste of New Jerusalem. We are full of Christ that He may be displayed corporately by all His believers. To God “be the glory in the church” now and forever in New Jerusalem!
