Follow Your Heart
The legal stuff required by the FCC: I was sent the screening link to preview this ACI film by FrontGate Media. This is not a paid review and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Do you like Hallmark movies? I know quite a few people who just love the good feels the movies on their network can bring. With so much going on in the world around us, why not veg out to something wholesome and good, right? That’s precisely why I welcomed the opportunity to review this film when it was presented to me.
Let me be honest, though. My life is a lot busier these days than it used to be — back when we could sit down to a movie and actually watch the entire thing in one sitting. Between dogs, kids, work demands, and chores around the house, that solid block of time is rare. Which is why it didn’t surprise me that, only about 15 minutes into Follow Your Heart, we were up, handling dishes, switching laundry, and so on.
Because it was a bad movie? Not at all. Just because life took over, as usual. Sometimes it is hard to sit still when you know that to-do list is overflowing. But, here’s what happened. We never turned off the tv. Tina and I, in and out of the living room, kept catching bits and pieces of the movie. Finally, she looked at me, so serious, and said, “This is a super good movie.” So, what did we do? That’s right, we started it over — and we sat our butts down.
For the entire movie, we were glued to the tv. It was just good. Fresh. And, it made us feel good watching it. We laughed, we cried. We even rolled our eyes a few times, saying “Oh, come on, guy!” You know, those instances when girl spews her heart at the guy and the guy acts stubborn? Yes, one of those scenes. And a few others like it!
I guess I am telling you all of this because you are going to have the opportunity to watch Follow Your Heart when it premieres on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries this Sunday (October 4th) at 9PM EST/8PM central.
Now you want to know what it’s about, don’t you? I knew you would! Well, let’s just say it is about a young woman, Kathy, who left the Amish community she lived in and found her way to New York. She is a travel writer, has a handsome tv star beau, and she has come face-to-face with a live-changing career opportunity. That is, until she gets word of her dad’s passing and decides to head back home. And once she gets back there, her glamorous life doesn’t see so, well, enticing anymore. She bumps heads with those in the Amish community and encounters all kinds of reminiscing, emotional tugs on her heart strings.
You will have to watch what happens!
Look, we have watched our fair share of Hallmark movies – and I know that sometimes there are cheesy storylines and bad acting. But, we watch because the stories just make us feel good, right? Well, truth-be-told, this movie has all the feels without the bad acting. So, its a definite win!
Ready to watch? Don’t worry – I am going to remind you when its time😉. In the meantime, you’ll find the trailer below.
