God's Wonderful Promises - Fruitfulness - Pursuing Intimacy With God
God’s Wonderful Promises -Fruitfulness
In Part 1 of God’s Wonderful Promises we studied God’s perfect faithfulness. And how God’s promises are actually guarantees because of His perfect faithfulness.
In Part 2 we studied God’s wonderful promises for the gift of eternal life. And in Part 3 we studied God’s wonderful promises for forgiveness.
Then in Part 4 of God’s Wonderful Promises we studied some of the many promises about fear. Fear can paralyze a believer’s faith and inhibit your fellowship with God. And fear can prevent you from faithfully obeying and following God’s perfect will for your life.
In Part 5 we searched God’s Word and found His promises about comfort. There will be some difficult times in our life when we need God’s comfort. Now we will study God’s promises about fruitfulness.
God’s Wonderful Promises – Fruitfulness
God’s Promises About Fruitfulness
God desires you to be a faithful, victorious, and fruitful disciple and follower of Jesus. When you are this type of Christian God is greatly glorified. And this gives your life great value.
By fully trusting and submitting to God and His will, you will experience the life and power of Jesus Christ in your life. And He will empower you to be a victorious and fruitful Christian.
John 15:8 – “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”

John 15:1-5 – “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. “
God is constantly at work in you and in your life, to grow closer to Him and more like Jesus. His “pruning” in your life may be discipline. Or trials and difficulties. His goal is always to bring you closer to Him. And to make you more like Jesus. And to turn you into a victorious and fruitful follower.
Abiding in Jesus is living in vital unity and fellowship with Jesus. Without Jesus you cannot produce the eternal, everlasting fruit that He is talking about in these verses. Eternal fruit is salvation for others who do not personally know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God wants to use you to help others know Jesus in personal and real ways.
And eternal fruit is also helping others to grow closer to Jesus and more like Him. In other words, making disciples. Helping your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to grow spiritually and become faithful disciples and followers of Jesus.
Without vital fellowship with Jesus in your life, you will be able to do nothing. Anyone can do some good things in there life. But without vital fellowship with Jesus you will not be able to produce the kind of eternal fruit that Jesus want you to.
God’s Promises For Fruifulness
John 15:16 – “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”
John 4:35-38 – “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”
Psalm 92:12-14 – “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing.”

Psalm 1:3 – “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”
Jeremiah 31:12 – “They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the Lord— the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more.”
Hosea 14:5 – “I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots.”
2 Peter 1:5-8 – “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge. And to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness. And to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
May you be a victorious and fruitful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, for His glory.
