Hope always arrives.

    Hey my beautiful inspirational family,

Thought I’d step out a bit from the regular format and share these updates with you.

    Unexpected honor

If you peek in my window, you’ll find me dancing with gratitude. The Feb. issue of the Woman of Faith magazine features yours truly on the cover. Humbled with gratitude at this honor.

    Bringing God’s hope

After I return home from my travels where I speak to many groups, the suitcase of my heart is full of memories. Recalling moments where women and men shared how my story transformed their thinking and gave them courage through Christ to overcome their pain.

A few years ago, while I gave a message in a crowded church in Bolivia, I could hear sniffles from the crowd. Sometimes that happens when I share personal episodes of pain turned to peace through God’s faithfulness.

After I finished, I was assisted off the stage (most of you know I’m completely blind, thus the need for assistance). As I was escorted to the back of the room to sign books, someone pulled my sleeve. “Can I talk to you?” he said.

I smiled and nodded. Then he gave me a tight hug and whispered in my ear, “I’m losing my sight too and you just gave me hope.”

His sobs on my shoulder echoed in my heart with gratitude for God to use me this way.

    Seeing a future

On another occasion, I finished my talk and opened the floor for questions and answers. In the midst of tears, a woman said, “My son, 17, is standing over there. He had given up because of his loss of sight. But he’s crying because of what you shared. He was in deep depression, but now you showed him he can make it.”

Then her son spoke: “I thought my life was over because of my blindness. But if you have so much joy and you were able to do so much, now I know I can have a future too.”

I kept in touch with them and learned he’s now in Boston on his own working on his college degree.

More opportunities to share God’s hope

And now, my precious friends, in a few months I’m heading to Puerto Rico, asking God to use me there too. But I need your prayers of support. And while you pray, should the Lord touch your heart and you desire to go with me through your giving to JC Empowerment Ministries, I know God would smile at both of us!

I thank you so much for your prayers and your partnership through your tax-deductible gift via PayPal. If you’d like to donate please send it to [email protected].

Thank you for helping me touch the lives of those who are blind and give them insight to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. And, helping me shine the light of hope to those who live in spiritual darkness.

    In His grace.
