How to get favour from God and man? - Raising Zion
Some think by pleasing people one can receive favour from man. That’s false religion. That’s pride at work that seeks favour by doing good. True religion is when we do good according to God’s word and Spirits leading.
Wise King Solomon sheds light on, how to get favour by God and man.
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Proverbs 3:1-4
Get favour from God and man…
Before we find favour from God and man, we need to uphold these two habits in our lives.
1. Do not forget the word of God (2 Timothy 3:16)
2. Keep God’s word in your heart (Proverbs 6:23-26)
How do they help? First, your days will be meaningful and focused on fulfilling god’s will. (Length of days) An overcoming life in God’s fullness every day (Matthew 6:33,34)
Secondly, you will live a longer life. When you look back, you will be grateful and powered to strive for God. You will live a life of satisfaction (Psalms 90:14).
Third, you will walk in God’s Peace, Jesus is the prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6)
When the word of God is our ornament or adornment; when we bind mercy and truth around neck, our lives reflect the beauty of God. Unlike, worldly perishable adorning of self (1 Timothy 2:9).
Jesus is loved by all who understand Him. He faced opposition when He followed God’s word. Many went against Him. Some think everyone must love me, no one should hate me. That’s not possible when you start living the truth. The world still hates Jesus; believers will be hated too.
Rejoice! For the day of Christ is at hand.
