In Matthew 9:37 Jesus tells us 1 great truth and also 1 very sad truth all in the same verse. “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Jesus is referring to the spiritual harvest that God has prepared. God has touched and prepared many people’s hearts to be open to hear the Gospel. And to respond in faith to Jesus’ invitation to repent, place their faith in Him, and receive forgiveness and salvation. This verse is as true today as it was when Jesus said it over 2000 years ago. We have seen and personally witnessed the truth of Jesus’ words in many places and countries while serving in our missions ministry.

The sad truth is that the harvest is great, but the workers are indeed few. The number of Jesus followers willing to do whatever it takes to go and reach lost people in the world are very few. Today’s Christianity, especially in America, does not include radical obedience and sacrifice.
