Inspiring songs of Don Moen for hope

Sometimes through songs, God would make us feel His presence to give us hope in our darkest moments.

One of the best times to listen to music is when you have lost words to tell God how you feel and want His comfort.

Don Moen is one of the most famous singers of Christian songs for Hope. He is an award-winning singer, songwriter, pastor, and producer of Christian worship music.

Besides, he believes that God wants him to be an architect who designs products and events that help people experience His presence in a new and fresh way.

His music reflects his passion for making materials for the church that lead people into a genuine and closer connection with the Lord.

Moen’s peers acknowledged his lifetime commitment and awarded him the Ray DeVries Church Ministry Award 2002.

Inspirational and hopeful songs of Don Moen

You would feel his sincerity and comfort if you listened to one of Moen’s songs.

Here are some songs from Don Moen that we could listen to, especially when hopeless and distressed.

God will make a way

“God will make a way where there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see. He will make way for me.”

Based on the first verse of Moen’s God will make a Way song, he reminded us that the Lord is the God of the impossible.

In our most profound sorrow, we may feel we have done everything possible, but nothing changes in our circumstances.

However, the song reminds us that God could make a miracle. We may not see how God works, but He is making way for us. When we wait for the Lord, He is faithful to work in our lives.

Moreover, in the following lyrics of this song, Don Moen emphasizes that God will be our guide and will hold us close. God would renew our strength daily, even amidst the road of wilderness and our tiredness.

God is good all the time

“God is good all the time. He put a song of praise in this heart of mine. God is good. Yes, He is all the time. Through the darkest night, His light will shine.”

Whenever we lose hope and strength to fight our battles, we forget how good God is in our past experiences.

However,  Moen’s God is Good All the Time could remind us that God is always good, even in bad times.

We will also see His light in our darkest moments to give us hope. Also, the song mentioned that we should not be afraid when we are in turbulence.

God would be our guide in our journey. He will protect us and fulfill his promises of not leaving or forsaking us.

Somebody’s praying for me

“Somebody's praying for me. Somebody's knocking on heaven's door. Somebody's praying for me. Somebody's lifting me to the Lord. I knew it had to be.”

Knowing that someone has been praying for you makes you feel that you are not alone.

In the first line of this song,  Moen noted that he was lost in a desert land, feeling so empty and thirsty. Yet, God never left his side and has always been there, showering His grace and mercy.

In addition, because of his loneliness, it is difficult for him to pray and sing despite knowing that God’s word is accurate.

Then one day, he redeemed his faith and knew it was all because people were praying for him.

Thus, we cannot win the battle by ourselves. We need other people who can spiritually back us up when we are about to lose in the war.

We must be thankful if you have friends and churchmates praying for you.

Give thanks

“And now let the weak say, "I am strong.” Let the poor say, "I am rich because of what the Lord has done for us."

Sometimes it is challenging to thank and appreciate the Lord when our spirit is downcast. Yet, D Moen says in his song “GiveThanks” that we must be grateful with a cheerful heart.

He said that despite our shortcomings, God had given His son, Jesus Christ, for us. Without Jesus, we could not experience redemption, and we will forever be in the dark.

Through Him, we could be strong and prosperous. Thus, regardless of our struggles, such as marriage or career,  we should always find reasons to thank the Lord.

Moen’s song reminds us that even in our hopelessness, we can still be thankful because God has given us so much, and Jesus Christ is worth more than anything.

Our Father

“Hear our cry, Lord. We need your mercy, and we need your grace today. Hear us as we pray.”

Moen’s Our Father is a song we can listen to whenever we long and lose hope for God’s answer to our prayers.

It is about asking God that we always need His mercy and grace to live each day.

Moreover, in this song, Moen asks God to evaluate our hearts and remove anything that hinders God’s way of coming to us today.

Every day we need to seek God's mercy and grace to thrive the day and do what God wants us to do. We can have our devotion time with God so we could feel His presence.

Also, we are not always strong. We could not rely on our strength alone. Thus, it is only by God’s grace that we can conquer and win our battles.

He is faithful

“Great is Thy faithfulness, oh, God my Father. There is no shadow of turning with Thee. Thou changest not. Thy compassions they fail not. As Thou has been, Thou forever will be.”

“He is Faithful” by Moen is another song that reminds us that God is always faithful to His promises whenever we feel hopeless. God never changes yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

He will always be compassionate to those who love Him. In this song, Moen emphasized that he could see God's mercies each morning. God provided for everything he needed.

With everything that is happening, it is easier to worry and lose hope.

However, we should remember how God has been faithful in our lives, and He will never change.

Those who are careful in obeying His commands are not forsaken by God.

Painter of the sky

“There is no other love like Jesus. There is no other friend so true. No other hand of grace. No other hiding place”

Whenever we feel hopeless, we look for a place where we could be alone. We also look for a friend who can understand and comfort us.

The Painter of the Sky by Moen highlights that Jesus Christ is our rock of refuge.

When we feel helpless and hopeless, the best place is to be with Jesus. He would give us comfort, peace, hope, and renew our strength.

There is no other place where you could find peace and hope than in the presence of the Lord. Being with God is incomparable.

No eye has seen

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what the Lord has prepared. But by His Spirit He has revealed His plan to those who love Him.”

Moen’s No Eye Has Seen is amazing to remind us that God prepared wonderful and extraordinary things to those who love Him.

We should wait and hope in the Lord for He has prepared amazing plans for us.

When we feel down and seem stagnant in life, remember to always hold on to God’s everlasting love and promises.

We may not understand Him for every struggles we are facing but we have to trust in Him.
