Intersections: Arts & Faith Conference 2024

For many years, Artists of Faith have gathered in the northern California area to be inspired, encouraged, equipped, and engaged in community. In fact, we’ve had eleven Intersections Conferences dating back to 2009. During that time, we’ve had New York Times bestselling authors and award-winning poets, film screenings and regional theater experts, amazing visual artists (including painters, mixed-media artists, performance artists, sculptors, digital designers), university professors and educators, inspiring musicians (including songwriters, worship leaders, recording artists, film composers), and a variety of stirring dance performances. It’s been an amazing ride, a big part of the adventures in faith and art that has blessed me—not only through the artistic expressions but also with the lifelong friendships I’ve made along the way. Indeed, the conference has been as much about fostering relationships among artists of faith as it has been encouraging, inspiring, and educating. And it’s been a blast.

We’re pleased to announce that the Intersections: Arts & Faith Conference is back and will be at Oak Hills Church in Folsom on February 24, 2024. All musicians, painters, dancers, writers, poets, filmmakers, and other creatives are invited to this regional gathering. The cost for this one-day event is $35 per person, and includes lunch.

This year’s conference features:

• Special Guest, Dr. Byron Spradlin, Founder/President of Artists in Christian Testimony, Intl. Byron is an internationally known advocate for the theology of worship, imagination, and arts leadership. Besides his work with ACT International, he is the Vice Board Chair of international Jews for Jesus mission, on the board of World Venture mission, and is a professor of Worship & Art studies at Williamson College.

• Special Screening of the Award-Winning Independent Full-Feature Film, “Far East, Deep South,” with a Panel Discussion with the Filmmakers, Larissa Lam and Baldwin Chiu. This important documentary made its US Broadcast Premiere on the World Channel (PBS) series “America ReFramed” and has since been critically lauded on USA Today, NPR, Entertainment Weekly, and CBS News.

• Breakout Sessions with Industry Experts in Music, Film, Graphic/Visual Design, Non-Profit Startups, and others. I’m excited that you have the opportunity to talk with some people who have been a part of the arts at the highest levels in several areas.

• Plus a variety of Artist Testimonies/Expressions, a special showing of local artists in our Art & Soul Gallery, some out-of-the-box Worship, and other fun expressions. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their stuff—brochures, business cards, books, merch, etc., to display at a communal resource center. Come know and be known.
