Today’s second reading is such an encouragement from You, Lord. To keep firm and immovable, and always abounding in energy for the Lord’s Work.

First Corinthians 15:54-58

So, my dear brothers, keep firm and immovable, always abounding in energy for the Lord’s work, being sure that in the Lord none of your labours is wasted.

Doing the Lord’s Work

Last night, I was so beat, energy-wise.

I went to sleep at 11:30 pm, tired and exhausted, and just woke up today at 9:20 am. Wow. That’s 10 hours of sleep!

This was amazing for me because for the past week, I’ve been going about on just 4 hours of sleep doing the Lord’s Work.

Proclaiming God’s love in the morning, His faithfulness at night

Three weeks ago, on top of my daily 2 hours business focus, and two online jobs, the Lord inspired me to take my daily reflections on my journal and publish them on my blog.

So in the morning, in my prayer time at church after mass, in the threshold of the house of our God, I write my reflections on any of the mass readings for the day that spoke to me or my life situation.

Cause I always pray, before I start to write, for God to show me what He wants me to write about to tell His people.

I’m hoping that whatever God is teaching me regarding any of my life situations will resonate with someone out there being afflicted in any way and inspire them to dream and live in Christ towards health, wealth, and victory.

Then at night I close work at 10 pm (I don’t care how many hours of paid work I did. Well, I care but I surrender it to the Lord trusting Him to provide for me financially) and start work on my blog, publishing my reflection for the day.

Mostly that takes about 2 hrs of work between proofreading and editing and then making the images.

So I usually get to bed at 12:30 am, then to calm my active mind, otherwise, I won’t be able to sleep, I read novels for a bit, and usually at 1 am, I’m ready to sleep.

It’s like I’m actually doing what the Psalmist in today’s responsorial psalm is saying:

How good it is to give thanks to you, O LORD, to sing in your honour, O Most High God, to proclaim your constant love every morning and your faithfulness every night, Psalms 92:1‭-‬2 GNBDK

Working for the Lord

That psalm talks about singing. But we can very well replace it with whatever we do at work.

Like so:

How good it is to give thanks to you, O LORD, to write in your honor, O Most High God, to proclaim your constant love every morning and your faithfulness every night

Writing is my strength. I know I’m good at it. I’m able to express my thoughts and feelings better in writing than in speaking.

That’s why I’m so thankful the Lord is so much wiser than me.

Before the Lord told me to focus on writing for my blog, I thought I’ll focus on making YouTube videos for the SpeakChrist_Angel channel.

This is because I think people are more inclined to watch videos than to read, that YouTube is free and I don’t have to pay to be on the platform unlike maintaining the blog where I pay for hosting.

Also, I think the videos posted on YouTube will last forever and I want to be remembered for my work that will last until after I’m gone such as the likes of Jim Rohn and other motivational speakers who have already passed away but their body of work remains.

I wanted that as my legacy.

Doing the Lord’s work God’s way

But God’s thoughts are really not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways

He inspired me to work on my blog instead.

So I obeyed His inspiration and now I have a structure for every aspect of my business no matter how varied they are.

I make digital printable products for Etsy and my own Shopify shop as inspired by the topic on the blog of the day.

This design will also usually be used as a cover for my 5 inspirational journals to be posted on Amazon Kindle as well as made into a design for my merchandise on Print on Demand (POD) platforms I’ve decided to focus on: Redbubble, Teepublic, and Zazzle for that week.

I also search for videos that I curate for the SpeakChrist_Angel channel based on the topic of that day’s blog. A video that will also teach and inspire as a supplement to the topic God inspired me to write about.

And not only that I get inspiration for the products I make, but I also post 1 of these products and a video from my channel as inspired by the Lord on every blog post.

So whether readers click on those or not, it’s just there. Ready to be seen whenever someone comes and reads an article.

That’s amazing. And the Lord has inspired me to do it.

Doing the Lord’s Work as my mission

In this way, I’m confident my business is doing the mission the Lord entrusted to me: bring the Good news to the afflicted.

I’ve already committed to paying for the maintenance of this blog as my ministry, even when I know this won’t earn any income for me.

That’s because I’ve decided long ago not to put advertisements on my blog except for those I’m affiliated with that I actually use. And I put them all only on the sidebar and on the Helpful Tools and Resources page.

Nothing will compete in the space where people can read about what You have done in my life and what You’re trying to teach me and them.

Keep firm in the Lord’s Work

Doing the Lord’s Work, I love it. I enjoy it. This really makes my heart sing.

Even when I get so tired at the end of the day having to wake up very early again the next morning, I don’t care.

But the Lord also makes sure I take care of my body and so He lets me rest like what He did last night. Wow, 10 hours of sleep.

The last time I slept that long was last month before I got my weekly structure and daily routine from You, God, for this month and committed to doing it faithfully.

It’s going on 4 weeks, Lord. Help me to keep firm with this weekly structure and daily routine until You tell me otherwise.

I know Lord these efforts will not be wasted.

Now your turn

Are you doing the Lord’s Work?

Whether you are in ministry or not; Whether you are an employee or you have a business of your own or you’re retired; A student or a parent. Yes, you are doing the Lord’s work, work at it with all your heart.

Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve. Colossians 3:23‭-‬24 AMP

The Lord God is the real Master we serve.

I will leave you with this encouragement from the Lord today from a different version than the one at the start of this article:

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].1 Corinthians 15:58 AMP

And when you do get exhausted at some point while doing the Lord’s work for whatever reason, remember the Lord is your Shepherd. He will always let you rest and give you all you need.
