What will happen if we are always thinking as God thinks, if we always have the mind of Christ? Will your life be any different if you learn to think as God thinks and live as He says?
33 But, turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said to him, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are thinking not as God thinks, but as human beings do.
Mark 8
Not thinking as God thinks
The context here is that Jesus was asking the disciples who they think Jesus is.
Peter said He’s the Messiah.
Jesus thinks that Peter’s answer came as a revelation from God so He made Peter the Rock upon which He will build His Church.
Then He proceeded to tell them what He, whom they call the Messiah, the Son of God and Son of Man is destined to do.
31 Then he began to teach them that the Son of man was destined to suffer grievously, and to be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be put to death, and after three days to rise again;

Peter objected, he never wants that to happen to his Lord, his friend, and above all, the Messiah is not supposed to be like that – He’s supposed to save Israel and reign as King.
And here Jesus said the above verse:
You are not thinking as God thinks, but as human beings do.
Why we must always be thinking as God thinks
Oftentimes, we have dreams and set plans, goals, ways on how we want our life to turn out.
When I was young and just graduated as a nurse, I wanted what most nurses in our country do: Go abroad, live there in wealth and abundance. The American dream.
But God’s ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts.
“My thoughts,” says the LORD, “are not like yours, and my ways are different from yours. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways and thoughts above yours.
Now I’m working online at home with my family, earning x5 what I was earning before as a hospital nurse which I love so much because I’m earning more than enough yet I didn’t have to leave my family.
Now I’ve started a few online businesses that I pray will earn me residual recurring profits from multiple passive income streams so I still have more than enough but now I can work whenever I want.
But I’ve learned my lesson. God knows best. So I’m obeying Him daily and trusting Him to fulfill that dream the way He wants.
I want to think as God thinks and do what He wants.
How to think as God thinks
The same chapter in Isaiah above talks about how we can think as God thinks.
Turn to the LORD and pray to him, now that he is near. Let the wicked leave their way of life and change their way of thinking. Let them turn to the LORD, our God; he is merciful and quick to forgive.

How do we change our way of thinking?
By turning to the Lord, spending time with Him in prayer, and devouring His words, the best food of all.
You know what’s the best part?
It’s Free! You don’t need to pay Him for His time or His advice.
The LORD says, “Come, everyone who is thirsty — here is water! Come, you that have no money — buy corn and eat! Come! Buy wine and milk — it will cost you nothing! Why spend money on what does not satisfy? Why spend your wages and still be hungry? Listen to me and do what I say, and you will enjoy the best food of all.

When we Think as God Thinks
Listen now, my people, and come to me; come to me, and you will have life! I will make a lasting covenant with you and give you the blessings I promised to David. I made him a leader and commander of nations, and through him I showed them my power.
Isaiah 55:3-4 GNBDK
You will see God moving in your life as you’ve never seen before.
You will see good things happen in your life, more than you can ever ask or imagine.
You will have freedom: from distress, worry, anxiety, depression, fears, meaninglessness, purposelessness, insecurities, and whatever it is that’s keeping us from living the full life He promised.
Like David, you will face your Giants and kill them too with just a “sling and a stone”, with what you have however small and insignificant you may think they are, with such ease and power – God showing everyone His power through you.
Now your turn
Do you want to live a life thinking as God thinks and not as we, human beings do?
Start turning to God. Live His law of freedom and you will live a life of freedom.
Change your way of thinking and fill your mind with God’s words.
Start thinking God’s thoughts, then you will have the mind of Christ.

- Have the mind of Christ. Begin to live thinking as God thinks.
Dear Lord,
I turn to You and listen to Your words. Help me leave my way of life and let Yor words change my way of thinking so that I may think like Jesus, thinking as God thinks. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
