My Crimes Against the Most High God
I know that my crimes are against the Most High God,
And my offenses are well known to Him.
“And there is no creature hidden from His sight,
But all things are naked and open,
To the eyes of Him
To whom we must give account.”
And should I die tonight,
I know that His justice should surely await me.
The axe is laid at the tree,
And I shall not escape.
But if by chance He should take pity on me,
And dismiss my sentence…
I will not understand,
But that it would be for His own sake
And by his own mercy and grace.
I will then look for Him…
Who gave me pardon for all my sins.
And when I see His eyes of compassion,
I will cry because He loved me.
And then I remembered His words…
“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
And I recalled how He died when He was crucified,
And then I cried.
Because I knew that He had paid for the crimes,
That I had committed against the Most High God.
