Resist the Devil because he is resisting you.
Daniel was a servant of God who embark on a fasting and prayer programme for 21 days without result.
However, an Angel of the Lord appear to him in a vision and told him that is fasting, and prayer are not been answered because there is a principalities and power that was resisting his power.
The Angel also told him that from the first of his prayer his voice was heard, but his prayer was not answered because there was a principalities and power resisting his prayer.
It took the intervention of Michael, a chief Angel of God for Daniel to receive answers from God.
What lesson can we learn from this?

There are evil powers resisting power of saints.
Once a child of God opens his mouth for prayer, his voice is heard.
Once a child of God starts to pray, answers are released from heaven.
There are spiritual stronghold of darkness over every nation, territory and family.
For you to receive answers to your prayer, you need to resist and overcome the Prince of Persia over your territory.
If you are aware that there is a Prince of Persia resisting your prayer, you also ned to resist the devil as stated in James 4 vs 7.
