Prayer Answered God's Way

At the time walking with Josh through this difficult path I begin to see growth and maturity emerge. As his dear mother had good intentions by shielding him from life all his life, he never experienced the thrill of victory that for most humans comes from the pile of failures we experienced. We learned from each error and rose again and applied lessons learned. So by his early 40's he is learning things he should experienced 25 years ago. His mother died of cancer and his father, well I can touch on that subject later. Little by little growth and change is happening! He doesn't see it that way. He is still trying his old methods of coping which includes find someone to pay the monthly bills. Not happening. Welcome to the adult world. Don't want to sleep in your car? Find meaningful employment...work at your life. But Josh is not convinced his life is worth anything. Rejection is a terrible thing with long lasting wounds. I believe God alone "heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds" Psalm 147:3. But clearly God is at work here and is with Stephen as I pray, family prays and friends pray. Praying but ultimately Josh has to make his choices in life. God is moving along in His timing. He alone knows the human heart and when we are ready for His next steps. But the next step is such a painful one and I can barely write the words. We will save that for the next chapter.

My sister's birthday was March 28. I'm sure there was a great celebration in heaven. Josh's mom was probably my closest sister. I thought happy thoughts about her. Wistful thoughts, would love to talk with her but overall realizing how blessed I was to have such a great sister. Josh...

Been awhile since I wrote. Early March was not a good time. Josh went into a 1/2 way house which he despises. No rules for Josh! Still looking for the easy way out ( from drugs/alcohol) and does not have the resolve or desire to work at his life. Only...

Time in mental facilities, rehab houses, living in the car, and rental rooms. Josh is on a course of three steps forward and two steps backwards. Needing direction about life, his mom is dead, his Dad has been useless all his life. He is truly alone and terrified. I try...

Pain is a part of life. I read Job and I see a man who lays out his pain in unvarnished simplicity. I do not hear bitterness in his words overall. He has his moments like we all do. But he comes off as a fellow human, someone at times...
