1 Samuel 16 vs 13

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

1 Samuel 16:3 And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do: and you shall anoint to me him whom I name to you.

  1. The Bible says Samuel poured oil on David, and the Spirit of God came upon David.
  2. Although David did not become king that same day, heaven marked him as king.
  3. It was then the Spirit of God that now pathed his way to the palace.
  4. When the Spirit of God anointed David, he was just a boy in the bush. So, the Spirit of God can turn a herdsman into a king.
