Reach out

Family, people are hurting. People feel lost, abandoned and broken. Broken people are in the world, broken people are also in the church. We don’t have to wait for opportunities where we have to go to the ‘uttermost part’ when people in our community are broken too. Look around and examine your world, there is someone in your church and street that you need to reach out to.
We should strive to be sensitive to the needs of people. We should strive to give ourselves to people who are hurting and tired. It’s more than just telling them that the Spirit of God is with them and they should believe God, it’s way more than that. Jesus in His Word has asked us to minister to the Broken Hearted, we’ve been asked by Jesus to preach deliverance to the Broken Hearted. Don’t just preach Scriptures to them and advise them to trust God, you should be able to to hold their hands, wrap an arm around them and remind them that you’re standing with them, tell them they’re not alone and stay with them.
In this walk, there are times when people feel defeated, lonely and weary, there are times when they feel like they can’t win in whatever battle they’re going through, and they need someone to stand by them and hold their hands, and not someone who would chastise them for not having enough faith to win. Minister with love to hurting people.
Some people have scars from battles they’ve either won or lost in the past, and it takes a process to be completely healed of the past. Yes, God’s Spirit helps, His Spirit also uses people to fix people.
Don’t help people get reminded of their mistakes and past which has already been forgiven by God. I John 1:9 tells us about how God has forgiven our sins, Rom. 1:9 tells us there’s no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, and Ps. 103 vs 2 tells us how far God has separated us from our sins. So, dear, who are you to bring to remembrance what God has forgotten? Those sins don’t exist anymore for them, and it’s your role to remind them of God’s forgiveness.
We’ve been asked to seek first the Kingdom of God and all other things would be added, but we get it all wrong when we chase ‘all other things’ while God’s Kingdom is left unattended to. God’s Kingdom is to reach out to the needy, getting people saved, ministering to the hurts of others. We shouldn’t leave the Kingdom of our Father out. Always make an effort to help, if there’s someone who’s hungry feed the person physically before feeding the person spiritually, if there’s someone at the hospital, present yourself in visitation and holding up the person in prayers. That is God’s Will, that is putting first God’s Kingdom.
You don’t have to do it to be seen hence receiving your reward here on earth in the commendations and praises of people. Don’t do it to be seen, it’s enough that God sees how you glorify Him with your lifestyle.
This is a call that we go out and hold people up. Give out your talents, time and abilities. Don’t hold them back, don’t be selfish with them. Don’t be bothered about what you get in return, you should be settled because ‘all other things’ would definitely be added unto you as you choose God’s Kingdom over every other thing. Start thinking of what you can do for Christ, than on what Christ can do for you.
Thank you!
God help us as we reach out..
