Sermon: Meaning of my kingdom is not of this world
Sermon: Meaning of my kingdom is not of this world
Posted on October 18, 2013 Updated on October 17, 2013
John 18 vs 36 – Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Jesus meant:
- He did not get his authority and power from the earth, but from Heaven
- He was not a King or President of the earth, who were elected into office by votes or inheritance.
- His security is not provided by human guards by Hosts of Heaven.
- His tenure cannot end like earthly Political leaders, neither can he be removed from office like Kings or monarchs.
- His territory is all creation, both the heavens and the earth, rather than earthy Kings that have a limited territory.
- He does not fight his enemies with physical weapons like earthly kings. His instruments of warfare are spiritual.
