Sermon: Meaning of my kingdom is not of this world

Sermon: Meaning of my kingdom is not of this world

Posted on October 18, 2013 Updated on October 17, 2013

John 18 vs 36 – Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Jesus meant:

  1. He did not get his authority and power from the earth, but from Heaven
  2. He was not a King or President of the earth, who were elected into office by votes or inheritance.
  3. His security is not provided by human guards by Hosts of Heaven.
  4. His tenure cannot end like earthly Political leaders, neither can he be removed from office like Kings or monarchs.
  5. His territory is all creation, both the heavens and the earth, rather than earthy Kings that have a limited territory.
  6. He does not fight his enemies with physical weapons like earthly kings. His instruments of warfare are spiritual.
