Memorise: “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Prov 3:6)Read: 2 Kings 6:1-7

contractThere are good problems and there are bad problems. Our God has solution to all problems. For instance, while dealing with the problem of stagnancy, He continues to take the fellow from glory to glory. He will lift you where no human hands can, because His arms are the everlasting arms.Hence, if you are a bonafide believer, the sky is not your limit because that is too close a distance for God. To have an understanding of how long His hands are, just check the scriptures. It says Heaven is His throne and the earth is His footstool (Is 66:1). The length of a man’s hand is proportionate to the length of his legs. Imagine how long God’s legs are that when He sits on His Heavenly throne, His legs rest on the earth. What pretty long legs they must be! Imagine how far He can lift you.In today’s reading, the sons of the prophets had a good problem. Good and bad problems require solutions and God gives all solutions. When they met Elisha, they asked for permission to enlarge their coast and he gave his blessings. From this we learn that you should discuss all your plans with God and get His blessing before embarking on any. Proverbs 3:5-6 says He should be acknowledged in all your plans. Never do anything behind Him.

Also, if He gives you the go ahead, He will easily respond when things go wrong – because He is involved. His Name is at stake. But if you move without His permission, He may take His time before He intervenes. The reason many plans fail is that we plan without Him and thereafter request for His blessing. Rather, first ask for His plan in the particular area. If it is His plan, it is already blessed and destined for success.

Psalm 37:4-5 says you should delight in Him. That means love, praise, worship and adore Him. Then anything you desire will come from Him. God is a perfect gentle man. When you treat Him very well, He will say thank you before you leave His presence. God is interested in giving you that winning proposal. He wants the best for you. But to what extent do you involve Him? Do you bring a suitor before Him and ask Him to approve the fellow as your spouse or do you ask for His choice for you in marriage?

To what extent do you consult with God before drawing your plans?
