The Blood of Christ Purifies our Conscience

Thank you for following along with this week’s devotional series on Hebrews 9How’s Your Conscience Doing?

We’ve seen that the earthly tabernacle, though beautiful, could never perfect the conscience. We’ve discovered the power in Jesus’ blood – doing what animal sacrifices never could, cleansing our consciences completely. We’ve traced the cost of forgiveness through a sea of blood, all pointing to Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice. We’ve learned that Jesus is in heaven itself, appearing before God on our behalf – his work finished, never needing to be repeated. And we’ve faced the reality that he’s coming back to bring salvation to those eagerly waiting for him.

Here’s the good news: Jesus’ blood has cleansed your conscience once and for all. You don’t need to strive. You don’t need more rituals. His sacrifice is sufficient, and he’s ready to save all who trust in him.

Do You Feel Accepted or Rejected?

I went to bed, pulled the covers over my head, and had a big ole pity party. Once again, I had been rejected…come in second place…told I wasn’t quite what “they” were looking for. The scarlet letter loomed large. It wasn’t an A like Hester Prynne’s in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s book I had read in high school, but a big fat R that I chose to wear when life turned ugly. Read more...

        Sleeping and Waiting

Sleep is crucial to our health. It’s our body’s time to restore itself and make sure we’re ready for the day ahead! Waiting, in a way, is like the “sleep” portion of our faith. While we wait, God works. And imagine all the incredible work He’s doing!
