1 Samuel 30 vs 6

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

God is the first and ultimate motivator speaker.
When you are downcast and even at the point of committing suicide, a word from God will turn your captivity around.
God is a great life coach and source of inspiration.
The story we would have read about David would have been that he was stoned to death after the enemies took his possessions.
But David was wise enough to seek the face of God even as he was about to be stoned to death.
The Bible says God gave him a word, advice, and counsel that turned his captivity around.
