THE DIVINE AT THE DOOR
Revelation 3:20 NKJV
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."
Your life is like a house...
Every house is built by a team.
Not just only the owner. Workers and technicians all participate in the construction.
Foundations are laid.
Walls go up.
Roofs cover the house.
Then the internal work begins.
Fixing and decorating to make it livable.
But, don't forget it's a house.
To be lived in.
A house is all closed in. The door is made to keep intruders out.
So that you can have peace and quiet in the house.
So is your life...
The door is your choice of what you allow in to your life and what you refuse.
Your life can't just be shut in.
God and good things need to enter.
So, Jesus is knocking at the door.
He's waiting for you to answer and come open the door.
He wants to bring all the best and brightest of heaven into your life.
He wants to flood your life with heavenly blessings.
Not only that...
He wants to come in himself.
He wants to come in and sit at the table with you as a close companion. Like a close friend chatting together over both the important and the mundane.
He really wants to be close to you. He desires you to open up to him.
What does he want from you?
He knows you can't make it alone. He knows you can't go far all by yourself.
He's from eternity. He knows the nuts and bolts of living large and well.
Will you allow him to come in?
And, by the way, he's got company too.
His Father will come to join when you allow him to enter.
John 14:23 NKJVJ
'Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and WE WILL COME TO HIM and MAKE OUR HOME with him.'
Can you imagine the house where Jesus and the heavenly Father abide?
That's bound to be heaven!
And that can be your house. I mean your house-life.
Now, how can we really open to Jesus for him to fully come in?
He gave us the secret in John 14.23:
If anyone loves me, he'll KEEP MY WORD...
That's the secret.
To keep His Word.
To treasure His commands and promises.
To delight in the truth he's brought to the human race.
What will you do?
Will you throw your door wide open?
Will you lift up your everlasting doors and let the King of glory come in? Y
