The Power of your Confession | Shekinah Church | Ann Arbor

Genesis 30 vs. 1 –And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

  1. There is power in your tongue
  2. You can make or mar your life with the words you say.
  3. In the first passage, Rachel ignorantly puts a curse on herself.
  4. She eventually had a child, but when she was about to have the second-born she died in the process.
  5. Rachel should have simply said “Give me children” and refrain from putting her life on the line
  6. Rachel waited for long years in her husband’s house, but could not bear a child.
  7. She became desperate and was ready to die if her prayers were not answered.
  8. God visited her when giving birth to the child.
  9. Desperation for answered prayers should not lead us to curse ourselves.
