You’re Still Mine

Sometimes I wake up and wonder if He’s still there. It’s been awhile since the last time I talked to Him. I get busy with so many things. How can I go so long without thinking of Him and confessing my sins? I wonder sometimes if I’m just a hypocrite and fear that maybe He’s not with me anymore.

Then I hear Him say to my soul, “you’re still mine”, gently reminding me that He gave me a new heart and a new spirit. He fills my mind with the truth saying “you did not choose Me, but I chose you to bear fruit that will last.”

And when I am weak and fall into sin, the Spirit is there to help. He takes me again to the foot of the cross pointing to Jesus who paid for all my sins. It’s a mystery that Christ is in us, living on the inside. He is our hope of glory and the guarantee of our inheritance.

What about you? Do you sometimes feel that He has left you? Be of good cheer. He’s still there filling our minds with the truth. He will never leave us or forsake us, and when we are faithless, He remains faithful.

Then I hear Him say, “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.”
