Sexually compromised leaders at a church formerly The Village Church - Plano Campus - Divorce Minister

“I was recently contacted by someone who informed me that VERY BAD things have gone on over at Citizens Church Plano (formerly The Village Church-Plano Campus) which involved the campus pastor, Hunter Hall, and the worship pastor, Isaac Wimberley.

It all goes back to 2016, when Hunter committed adultery with a woman in the church…but the story only began there.”

“SWINGING PASTORS? FORMER VILLAGE CHURCH SATELLITE ROCKED BY ALLEGATIONS CONCERNING IT’ FORMER PASTOR”

The Village Church is the church founded by Matt Chandler down in Texas. This megachurch is a flagship for Acts 29 church planting network.

Sadly, this church has a history of poor handling of sexual sins. One especially spectacular fail was how they handled a situation of a returning missionary. One location had pastors attempting to discipline a missionary who obtained a marriage annulment over her husband’s pedophilia. Chandler ended up issuing an apology over how they had handled the situation.

To The Village Church credit, this story about pastors sinning sexually does result in removal from their leadership positions. This is more than some churches do, sadly.

The crazy thing is how a church could have people in leadership who were allegedly engaging in sexual swinging for years (starting in 2016)! You can see from the allegations (see here) point to two pastors exchanging their partners for sexual encounters. Plus, they were allegedly trying to recruit others into this sick sexual perversion!

It is actually rather astounding!

You know these pastors were aware this behavior was wrong (hence the hiding of it). However, they continued in it for years. Their lives spoke to a different ethic than what came out of their mouths on Sunday. Disgusting!

This sort of behavior ought to permanently disqualify Hunter Hall and Isaac Wimberley from the pastorate (see I Timothy 3:2).

Those who live in Colorado should be aware. They have moved there and may follow the pattern of disgraced pastors who move just to start up another church elsewhere.

    I don't get it. - Divorce Minister

I don’t get faithful spouses wanting to be friends with their Cheaters. Sure, there’s pressure to do this “for the kids” if kids are involved. Some may feel pressure from outsiders to do this to not burden them with the ugliness that is reality. It makes sense for Cheaters to want this–i.e. to be “friends.” … Continue reading "I don’t get it."

But I did burn his evening meal... - Divorce Minister

“But I DID burn his evening meal,” says battered wife. What happens when your Cheater does actually touch on a real complaint about you? Most of us are rather introspective individuals as faithful spouses. We are probably painfully aware of our own faults and failures. So, it is especially disorienting in this time when your … Continue reading "But I did burn his evening meal…"
