Make this Christmas merry

John 3 vs. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life –

Another Christmas, the greatest celebration in the world is here. How are you preparing to mark the Christmas? Are you planning to go on holidays or you are on holidays already?

Have you decorated your offices and homes with lightings and Christmas trees? Have you given gifts to friends and relations that have been of support to you throughout the year? Have you done the traditional Christmas shopping and have bought clothes for the kids

Christmas is a time of fun, entertainment, merry making, relaxation, and festivities.

No matter how you are planning to spend the Christmas, it is important to remember the reason for the celebration. Jesus Christ is the author of Christmas as the day is a remembrance of his birthday.

Your Christmas celebrations will not be complete and will in fact be meaningless if you do not know and discover the reason for the celebration. How would you feel if someone marks your birthday and forgets to wish you the celebrant a happy birthday?

Jesus is the celebrant and one important thing you must do this Christmas is to understand his ministry and accept his call for your salvation.

Jesus Christ was sent by God to save the world for its sins. He was crucified on the cross shedding his precious blood as a sacrificial offering for the remission offering of the sins of mankind. The only thing God expects of you is to believe in him, and accept his plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.

This Christmas must not end without you believing in Christ, the subject of Christmas. Open your heart to him today and he will fill you with everlasting joy ensuring that everyday, not only the 25th of December is a Christmas in your life.

If you want to be saved this Christmas, say this simple prayer.

Father God, I thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ to save me from my sins. I believe in him and accept him as my Lord and Saviour. I repent of my sins and pray that the blood of Jesus wash them away now. I am saved by the blood of Jesus this 2011 Christmas. Amen.
