Three Parables Portray the Triune God as our Entrance into New Jerusalem

We continue with the three parables in Luke 15—the shepherd searching for and finding the lost sheep, the woman searching for and finding the lost coin, and the father receiving, clothing, and feeding the prodigal son—which show us the entrance to New Jerusalem.

New JerusalemThese three parables portray a complete triune entrance. It is one entrance but in three steps. If the Son had never come to die on the cross, there would be no basis for us to enter into the kingdom of God…The Son died on the cross to find us outwardly, but the Spirit came to seek us by searching within our being….Due to the Spirit’s inner searching, we repented and came to our senses…. Based upon the Son’s redemption and through the Spirit’s searching, the Father was ready to receive us back into His house to enjoy Him and to enjoy His rich inheritance.*

Through the Son’s redemption, the Spirit’s seeking, and the Father’s receiving, we are now in the Father’s house, the family of God. The reality of this is now in spirit, and will be manifested openly when the Lord returns in glory to end this present age and will be manifested to the fullest extent in New Jerusalem.

We ought to thank God and rejoice frequently for His redemption, searching and receiving. Luke 15 concludes “be merry and rejoice” for he who was dead has come to life. This is our entrance into eternal New Jerusalem.
