Sometimes I am truly not sure we will make it.  This season of emptiness, poverty, loneliness, and fragility often feels like if I turn the wrong way I will just break.

Have you ever felt this way?  Like the intense and dreary circumstances of the day week unending season of life feels like a chain that cannot be shaken?

I know that place; the desert…the wilderness.  It is a dark and utterly confusing place where epic battles of the soul wage on and intense lessons of identity and grace are received.

For the last three years we have been in the desert…the place where God sends His children to learn about Him, His goodness, His provision, and His Sovereignty.  But, alongside of these life-altering lessons of Goodness and Grace come the lions of the mind that roars against the beauty of God and casts shadows of doubt, fear, and control.

The desert walk is not always the most glamorous experience.

Thankfully, though, we serve a Mighty God who is not swayed by our emotional upheavals and momentary struggles.  He is strong enough to handle the torrents of the day, and step-by-step teaches us how to be strengthened and fortified against the onslaught of the day.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” ~ Eph. 6: 13

As we continue to endure this season of transition and trial, He has been lately reminding me of the actions of faith, and their importance in the fortification process.

Though we may feel weak, He is strong.  Though it may seem like the darkness will overcome, the darkness cannot stand in His Light.  Little by little, He is revealing His plans, and the more we dig in and commit to holding strong, the more we will experience His mighty blessings in our lives.

Hold strong in Him.
