Always and Only—His Grace

As most of you know, I’ve been quite busy working on my book. This week I crossed a major milestone—my book is now available on the USA Amazon website for presale! To my surprise, although I categorized it under Family Relationships > Dysfunctional Families, for the past two days it has been ranked as #1 in Dissociative Disorders.

Yes, for a very long time, I struggled with strong dissociation from my emotions, feelings, and some of my memories. And yes, I share about that in my book. However, when I look at all that has happened to make this book possible, in my eyes, it is not just an autobiography, but rather a portrait of a very human and fallible person (me), immersed in the wonderful grace of a loving and all powerful Savior—Jesus.

So many things happened to make this book possible, it’s hard to know where to start. From finding the right artist for the cover, finding someone to do an original piece of artwork for my inside my book, locating an editor, copy editing by a friend, getting permissions to quote important text from other books, and getting honest input from early readers. There were so many steps along the way that I thought, this is not going to happen. But it did. Another act of God’s grace to help me along the way.

It would mean a great deal to me if you would keep this entire project in prayer. In particular, now that my book is essentially done, I have less than a month to get my new website up and running. This new site will be the place where readers can go for more information, to download some goodies I offer in my book, and to begin a conversation with me—if they so desire. This is not about my glory, but about HIS, finding a way to continue contact with those whose hearts are touched after they close the pages. I need wisdom and ideas and ability to put it all together.

I’d also appreciate it if you would share the link to my book with others, and let others know it is available. If you would like to read it, please do pre-order. By pre-ordering you help make my book more visible to others, before it is officially available on October 11. This is a way you can participate in the blessing of reaching others with the good news of hope for a fractured heart. If you would be interested in reading a draft preview, so that you can post a review on Amazon.com, please let me know.

On the personal side, I had a new CT scan of my lower back performed yesterday. I’ve been having increasing difficulty walking.

You and I have so much going on in our lives. It is HIS grace that carries us through. I am so thankful for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do—in all of our lives. I am so thankful for each of you as well. I so appreciate your prayers and encouragement over the years. What an honor for us to know the God of Creation, the Lover of Our Souls, our Beautiful Savior—Jesus.

Deborah Hemstreet (Dvora Elisheva)

I have lived in Israel since 1982, except for a 3 year period when my husband and I lived in the USA. After my husband died I returned to Israel. The themes of my writing focus on finding hope in the Lord. I've been struggling with so many different issues, but God has proven Himself faithful every step of the way. I'll soon be 70 years old, but by the grace of God, I hope to remain a faithful testimony of the faithfulness of Jesus and to give a reason for my hope, until He comes or takes me Home. P.S. No, I don't dye my hair (!)
