Are generational curses real?

Are generational curses real?

Joshua 6 vs. 26Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying, “Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates.”

1 Kings 16 vs. 34In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.

  1. In the book of Joshua, Joshua placed a curse on whosoever shall rebuild the city of Jericho.
  2. He said when the person lays the foundation to rebuild the city, he will lose his first his born; and when the person is setting the gate of the building, his youngest son will die.
  3. Many decades later, Hiel who was probably unaware of the curse of Joshua, rebuilt Jericho.
  4. Abiral the first born of Hiel died when he was laying the foundation, Segub the youngest son of Hiel also died when Hiel was setting the walls of Jericho just as Joshua cursed.

Prayer

  1. I break every known and unknown curse in Jesus name.
  2. Holy Spirit, reveal to me every curse attached to my destiny in Jesus name.
