When you study the verses preceeding this verse, the Bible listed things that can make a man be taken captive by the devil, which are: Youthful lust, Disobedience and may more.
Once you are not walking with God, you are walking with the devil.
Do not negotiate with the devil. The devil is not your friend, he takes people captive.
Anytime you put yourself into sin, you are making yourself capturable by the devil.
The Bible says that we should abstain from every appearance of sin.
Anytime you open up to sin, you are opening yourself to the captivituy
