Believe God for More Than You Can Imagine
Paul reminds us to believe God because that His mighty power is already at work within us. Yet how often do we face life’s challenges as though everything depends on our own abilities?
We make plans, set goals, and sometimes even decide how God should accomplish His work. Then we ask Him to bless what we’ve already decided to do.
But what if we sought His direction first?
God can accomplish far more than we could ever imagine. That doesn’t mean He promises to fulfill every dream or grant every request. His plans may look entirely different from ours.
The exciting part of trusting God is discovering what He can accomplish when we believe and surrender our plans to Him.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20
Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Strength
Before Paul wrote about God’s ability to accomplish infinitely more than we can ask or imagine, he prayed for the believers in Ephesus.
He didn’t begin by asking God to give them greater possessions, better circumstances, or successful ministries. He prayed that God would strengthen them spiritually through the Holy Spirit.
Paul also prayed that Christ would make His home in their hearts as they trusted Him. He wanted their roots to grow deep into God’s love and keep them strong.
That’s an important part of understanding Ephesians 3:20. God’s mighty power isn’t limited to changing our circumstances. He works within us, strengthening our faith and transforming our lives.
Sometimes we become so focused on what we want God to accomplish through us that we overlook what He wants to accomplish in us.
The more deeply rooted we become in Christ’s love, the better prepared we are for whatever He calls us to do.

Believe in and Understand the Greatness of the Love of God
Paul continued his prayer by asking God to help believers understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.
Think about that for a moment. The same God who can accomplish infinitely more than we could ever imagine wants us to experience the greatness of His love.
Sometimes we become so focused on what we want God to do that we overlook what He has already done for us through Jesus Christ.
Maybe you’re facing a situation that seems impossible. Perhaps you’re praying for a family member, seeking direction for your life, or believe God to accomplish something through your church.
Whatever your circumstances, remember that God’s love for you doesn’t depend on whether He answers your prayers the way you expect.
Paul wanted believers to experience Christ’s love even though it was too great to understand fully. He knew that a deeper relationship with Jesus would strengthen their faith.
The more we experience God’s love, the more confidently we can trust and believe in His power.
We can bring our greatest needs and seemingly impossible situations before Him. But we must also trust His wisdom, His timing, and His purposes.
God can accomplish far more than we imagine, and sometimes His greatest work takes place within us before we ever see a change in our circumstances.

Believe God to Accomplish His Purpose Through You
What would you like to see God accomplish in your life? Whatever it is, believe God and bring your desires before the Lord. But don’t limit Him to what you think He should do or how you think He should accomplish it.
Sometimes we become so confident in our abilities that we move forward with our own plans and then ask God to bless them. Instead, we should seek His direction and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us.
God may open doors we never expected. He may also close doors we were convinced should remain open. Either way, we can believe God by trusting Him to accomplish His purposes.
Paul concluded his prayer by giving all the glory to God.
Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:21
Notice where Paul directed the glory. Not toward our abilities, accomplishments, or ministries, but toward God.
It’s exciting to believe God for more than we can imagine, especially when we’re willing to let Him decide what that looks like.

Life Application
- Seek God’s direction before making plans. Don’t become so confident in your abilities that you forget to ask the Lord what He wants you to do.
- Believe God for more than you can imagine. Bring your greatest needs and desires before Him, trusting His power without trying to dictate the outcome.
- Allow the Holy Spirit to strengthen you. Depend on His power rather than your own strength when facing difficult circumstances.
- Grow deeper in Christ’s love. Spend time in prayer and God’s Word, allowing His love to strengthen your faith and guide your decisions.
- Give God the glory. When He accomplishes something wonderful in your life or ministry, remember who deserves the credit.
Lord, thank You for Your mighty power at work within us. Help us to understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love is. Strengthen our faith and teach us to depend on the Holy Spirit rather than our own abilities.
Give us the courage to believe You, God for more than we can imagine while remaining surrendered to Your will. May everything You accomplish in us and through us bring glory to Your name.
