Memorise: “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith ” (Mark 11:23)

Read: Matthew 14:25-33

When you fight Goliath and overcome, it will bring you to limelight. Before you face your Goliath, like David, you may have to confront fear, envy and jealousy. Another force David had to contend with before facing his major challenge was king Saul. When he was brought before him, king Saul assessed him based on his size, youthfulness and lack of military experience, and concluded he was no match for the giant.

Leaders who doubt the ability of subordinates are another tough enemy to a man’s breakthrough. Usually those in that category would have made unsuccessful attempts, and would not want somebody else to succeed where they failed. If you must reach your goal, pay deaf ears to them. As a young Christian, I had such to contend with.

After seeing how close to Hell I was until God saved me, I was on fire for God in a bid to win souls. Some elders in the church saw my zeal for the Lord and challenged me. They asked me where those who had gone ahead of me were, and concluded that I will soon cool down like they did. But I told them that I would rather get hotter for Jesus. Every superior sent to quench the revival fire of God in your life and ministry will fail.

Never allow the seed of doubt take root in your life. In today’s reading, Jesus walked on water to meet His disciples who were stuck at the middle of the sea. When they saw Him, they thought they were seeing a ghost, until the Lord introduced Himself and calmed their fears. When I studied this passage, I observed that Jesus stretched out His hands to Peter and he grabbed it. This shows he was within close range.

Peter was already so close to his goal when doubt set in. Doubt never takes you forward because it puts the gear on the reverse. You cannot maintain your position or status when doubt sets in. The life you are called to live is the higher, greater and better life. It is called the Abundant life. It is a life of faith.

If you must get to your goal this year, disengage from doubt and engage faith. Believe every Word of God coming to you and act on it with expectations. Cut off anyone who has been a vehicle for sowing doubt in your life. That fellow is a hinderance to your goal.

Whenever you engage faith, your progress is guaranteed. If you engage doubt, your progress does not stop, it progression is the reverse direction.
