Numbers 11:2

And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.

Until you start to cry to God, you may not get the attention of heaven.
The intensity, violence and aggressiveness you put you into your prayers is one of the factors that determines its efficacy.
