In a recent 2 part Bible study we looked at spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is inevitable if you are a Christian. God has an enemy, and his name is Satan. If you are a Christ follower and disciple, then God’s enemy is your enemy.

The more committed to Jesus you are, the more spiritual warfare you will experience. Especially if you are obediently and actively participating in God’s kingdom work and mission. Satan hates people, and he wants to take as many as possible to hell with him. On the other hand, God loves everyone, and He wants all to be saved and to have a restored personal relationship with Him. And eternal life with Him in heaven.

There is an ongoing invisible spiritual warfare for souls. But we do not need to be afraid. And we do not need to be dismayed or discouraged. In fact God tells us many times in the Bible that we do not need to be afraid or discouraged. There are many Bible verses about the battle is the Lord’s. And God promises that He will fight and win these battles for us.

In fact, we cannot win these spiritual battles on our own. Our enemy is too strong and powerful for us. But God has all authority over the enemy. And God is far more powerful and far greater than Satan. We must rely completely on God to come through spiritual warfare victoriously.

There are many Bible verses about the battle is the Lord’s. God promises us to fight these spiritual battle for us. And to give us the victory.

Ephesians 6:12 – “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

2 Chronicles 20:15 – ““Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

1 Samuel 17:47 – “All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

Deuteronomy 20:1 – “When you go out to war against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. “

Deuteronomy 20:4 – “For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.”

2 Chronicles 20:20 – “And when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed.”

2 Chronicles 20:17 – “You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.”

Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Do not be afraid of the spiritual battles in your life or ministry. And do not be discouraged. When you are starting to feel afraid or discouraged, run to God. And run to His word for strength and courage. Read these verses daily if you need to. We pray and hope that they will be a great encouragement to you.

Always remember that God is always with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. And God will go with you wherever you go. And God will fight the battles for you. You only need to be still and watch for the salvation and the victory of the Lord.
