DELIVERING YOUR POTENTIAL FOREST

Memorise: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit” (John 12: 24)

Read: Psalm 127:3-5

By Pastor E. Adeboye

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD and the fruit of the womb is his reward” (Psalm 127:3).

A womb is where a seed undergoes the process of becoming a fruit. In biological terms, it is the fusion of both male and female seed components in a womb that produces a fruit. Children are not released until a man and a woman copulate. However, womb means different things to different people. To a farmer, the womb is the ground. After sowing his seed into the ground, the farmer naturally expects his harvest of fruits over a period of time.

According to John 12:24, except a seed is sown and it dies, it cannot deliver its immediate potential of a tree and remote potential of a forest. Except a seed is sown into the womb of the earth, it remains dry, useless and a lone ranger. Infact, if it is a tiny seed like a corn, it becomes food for birds. Every seed you see is a potential forest.

Unfortunately, most seeds never have the chance of delivering what they are pregnant of. You are a seed of a kind. If sown in the right womb (soil), you are capable of producing righteous generations that will dominate the earth. The question is, Will you die alone, with your potentials intact, or will you deliver your future generations before you go?

You are more than what you think you are. If people assess you by the material things you have or do not have, never fall into the same pit of error. In you lies the seed of greatness. People may never know it. Infact, it is even better they do not know it, so that those who are stronger than you would not stop your greatness before its delivery date. If you want to see your potentials, you will have to look at yourself through the eyes of the Spirit. His eyes x-ray the object in focus and reveals the unseen.

After the catch of fishes in Luke 5:1-11, Peter looked at himself and saw nothing good about him. But the Lord looked through the eyes of the Spirit and saw greatness in him. He saw leadership. He saw a successor in him. I do not care what people saw or refuse to see concerning you. It does not matter. Their opinion does not count. What counts is how God sees you.

If you can only yield to the Saviour, walk in obedience to His Word on daily basis, you will surely deliver greatness. You are pregnant of greatness. That greatness will surely be born. You will affect nations for the Gospel. Stop using the limited eyes of men! Start seeing from God’s view!

Those who assess people’s worth solely by their material or financial possessions are suffering from spiritual myopia. They need deliverance!
